Pharmacology is the science of how drugs act on biological systems and how the body responds to the drug. The study of pharmacology encompasses the sources, chemical properties, biological effects and therapeutic uses of drugs. Pharmacy uses the knowledge derived from pharmacology to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes through the appropriate preparation and dispensing of medicines.

Learn Pharmacology integrates the knowledge of many disciplines, including medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, nursing, and veterinary medicine. This integrative nature allows pharmacology to make unique and significant contributions to human health.

If you are:

  • a highly motivated student seeking a rewarding career in the pharmacology as a pharmacist.
  • interested in making a major contribution to the understanding of both novel and current disease processes.
  • interested in the development of new therapies used in the clinic.

We encourage you to learn more about pharmacology. Just install our app and enjoy learning the pharmacology. Our App learn Pharmacology contains all the information about pharmacology; the lectures in the app are very simple and in detail. So anyone can easily learn and understand.

Pharmacology is a branch of medicine that deals with the interaction of drugs with the systems and processes of living animals, particularly focusing on mechanisms of drug action as well as therapeutic and other uses of drugs.

Pharmacology has two major branches:

  1. Pharmacokinetics, which refers to the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of drugs.
  2. Pharmacodynamics, which refers to the molecular, biochemical, and physiological effects of drugs, including drug mechanism of action.

In simple terms, pharmacodynamics is what the drug does to the body, and pharmacokinetics is what the body does to the drug.

A major contribution of Learn Pharmacology has been the advancement of knowledge about cellular receptors with which drugs interact. The development of new drugs has focused on steps in this process that are sensitive to modulation. Understanding how drugs interact with cellular targets allows pharmacologists to develop more selective drugs with fewer undesirable side effects.
